Benedict Inn Retreat and Conference Center
Indianapolis, IN
I found the Benedict Inn while on retreat with a Buddhist center and was quite impressed with the amenities. It's not a place you go to get fancy room decor or a Michelin star meal but it is just what it says, a retreat center meant for serious retreatants who are there to reflect, pray, meditate, and find peace of mind. Visit their website at benedictinn.org for more information.
Indiana Buddhist Center

The Indiana Buddhist Center is a small Buddhist center/temple located on the east side of Indianapolis. St. Luke's United Methodist Church
Indianapolis, IN
St. Luke's UMC is one of the most welcoming churches I've ever been to. I taught wellness class there for a few years and was always welcomed with open arms even though I didn't attend their regular services. I did however love to pop in to the original chapel which sits in the middle of the sprawling building for some rest and contemplation after teaching a class. The energy of St. Luke's is warm, welcoming, and open-minded. Visit St. Luke's at stlukesumc.com.
Tibetan Mongolian Buddhist Cultural Center (TMBCC)
Bloomington, IN
The TMBCC is a hidden gem in Indiana. Nestled in the woods just on the outskirts of Bloomington, it houses a cultural center where you can find Tibetan Buddhist goods such as incense, prayer flags, and literature. The temple is a separate structure just down the winding road and is a place of sheer beauty and calm. Several Buddhist monks live on the premises and hold teachings, ceremonies, and festivals all year round. The TMBCC was created by His Holiness the Dalai Lama's brother and is now run by Arja Rinpoche. The TMBCC houses retreat yurts on the back of the property and is the perfect place to get away.
