Cake Bake Shop
Indianapolis and Carmel, IN
The Cake Bake Shop is one of the most magical places I've ever been in Indiana. If you want to experience a french bakery without going to France this is the place! Go for a slice of cake, delicious pastries, or a quaint lunch. Make sure you call about reservations as it's quite the busy place. You can find all you need to know at thecakebakeshop.com.
Gallery Pastry Shop
Indianapolis, IN
Did someone say Macarons? Yes, this is the place for the most authentic french macaron in Indiana. Gallery Pastry shop, located in the SoBro (south Broad Ripple) area of Indianapolis as well as downtown is known for their delightful french pastries, breakfast foods and specialty coffees. Check out all of their offerings at gallerypastryshop.com.
Lisa's Pie Shop
Atlanta, IN
Lisa's Pie Shop is just north of Indianapolis on US 31 and if you blink you'll miss it so don't blink! This is a place you don't want to miss. The best peanut butter pie I ever had is from Lisa's pies. I found her delicious delights at the Fishers Farmers' Market and fell in love. Check out all of her famous fillings at lisaspies.com.
Rosie's Place
Carmel/Noblesville/Zionsville, IN
Okay, so Rosie's is technically a cafe but I've included it here because they have some of the most mouth-watering desserts I've ever tasted including the famous "gooey butter cookie". I'll put a plug in for their food too because I just can't get enough of that either. Find Rosie's at rosiesplace.net.
Titus Bakery and Deli
Westfield and Lebanon, IN
I discovered Titus when I was headed through Westfield one day a couple of years ago. I don't often go over that way but I was driving through and found myself hungry and looking for something to eat quickly that wasn't fast food. To my surprise I found Titus! I walked in and saw rows and rows of homemade donuts of all kinds from your regular glazed yeast to some very unique and yummy fillings like maple bacon and coconut cream. It gets even better though - I was tired and felt that a coffee would help pick me up and they convinced me to try their "pershing blend" which is a maple and cinnamon flavored coffee. They also make their deli sandwiches right in front of you using Boar's Head meats and cheeses and you can also get a box lunch with chips and a cookie. The best part for some of you may be that they have a drive-thru! So, if you're looking to support a local business, want a donut or sweet treat, a sandwich or coffee, then check out Titus Bakery and Deli at titusbakery.com.
