My love of Indiana truly started on the farm near Liberty. Down a gravel country road we travelled on weekends to visit my grandparents who were farmers and lived simple lives. Their simple way of life is what I long for as an adult, especially with the constant noise of the city, technology, and the subtle voice that tells me I need to "keep up". To be honest I've tried it all. I went to art school in Chicago, worked in television in Washington, D.C. and have travelled all over the U.S. and Europe but it was never really enough. I always longed for the quiet, the dark starry nights, and the feeling of contentment that I felt from the Indiana countryside. I've been settled back in Indiana for 16 years, started my own holistic healing business, began working on my art again, and feel more of that contentment than I ever have. Things still feel unfinished though, in fact I feel as if things are just beginning for me in a way.
Over the past several years I'd been asking for some divine inspiration and motivation to change direction and find more meaning in life as well as have more fun. I also wanted to be able to use my gifts of creativity and intuition along with my love for research and travel. One beautiful spring day it finally happened, the lightening bolt of inspiration! It became so clear - to bring my knowledge and love of all things Indiana to a public forum giving Hoosiers and visitors the ability to experience the incredible locally owned businesses, history of Indiana, people, places and events that make me proud to call Indiana my home.
This website is dedicated to all hard-working Hoosiers and especially my parents and grandparents who helped create and give to locally owned businesses. It is my honor and absolute joy to showcase the places, businesses, and people that make Indiana an absolutely wonderful place to live.
